February 22nd, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Stuff & Buzz

With strict laws being enforced in many countries around the world concerning the ban of cell phone usage while driving, many people have already picked up either one solution or another for hands free driving. There is always the handy dandy speakerphone option, Bluetooth, headphones, and a myriad of other choices that you can take advantage of when it comes to driving and talking safely. And now, folks who own an iPhone have yet another option for a hands-free experience – this time round it is courtesy of Hearing Components’ new Comply NR-10iHigh Tech Noise Reduction Earphones.

The Comply NR-10i earphones were specially designed with iPhone owners in mind, and they will utilize the same patented technology used by U.S. Army helicopter crews and Special Forces – ensuring you get to benefit from amazing noise reduction, superior comfort and secure in-ear fit. Among the benefits derived are crystal clear conversations and music experiences despite wading along in noisy environments.

These Comply Foam Tips come packaged with the earphones and offer superior noise reduction in both communications and music-listening situations. They are made from high-tech, viscoelastic polyurethane foam, and the tips themselves are able to conform to the individual shape of each ear canal without being an irritant when in place. The foam is able to create passive noise reduction by sending sound directly into the ear canal while sealing out unwanted noise.

In addition, the Comply NR-10i earphones come with an integrated microphone/function switch on the earphone cord that enables users the option to receive and end calls as well as skip songs to one that they like at the touch of a button. You can pick up the Comply NR-10i earphones for $99.95 a pop which is not bad considering the superior quality difference you will see, particularly if you are a heavy phone user while driving.

February 22nd, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Computers & Electronic Gadgets

The market seems to be saturated with the latest gadget that promises to save your life and make it easier in one fell swoop. There are so many out there it can get complicated, and in today’s hectic society, all in one gadgets are becoming increasingly popular. This is precisely why you will love the Powermat. The Powermat will let you toss out or put away all of the chargers you have on hand, lying on your floors and carpets and making things look unorganized and cluttered.

With the Powermat, you can put your iPod, your cell phone, and your whatever else you want all on the mat and charge it all at the same time. They’re mats that can be plugged in and will simultaneously charge a whole heap of gadgets, all at the same time, wirelessly. That’s no more chargers cluttering up your house, no more tangled wires and no need to use multiple plugs when you need to charge up more than one thing at the same time. The Powermat uses magnetic induction and, according to the website, “When a Powermat-enabled device is placed on the mat, a “handshake” process synchronizes the mat with the receiver and electric power is generated to meet the specific energy needs of the device.” They’ll then monitor the power in the device and disconnect power to each device once they’ve finished charging.

Even better, Powermats will also be able to be used in cars with their universal, window mount car charger for hand-held devices. Use them on your walls, tables, floors, or desktops as these are designed to replace the need to access multiple sockets at the same time. If you live in a home where everyone has a cell phone, an iPod, digital camera, or a PDA, this will eliminate some bulk and add some freedom and organization to your home when it comes to charging up your gadgets. These aren’t out yet, but you can check the Powermat website as they are expected to be out some time this year.

The Robot Money Box is VERY Helpful in Saving Money. Almost Too Much?

February 22nd, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Stuff & Buzz

Considering the fragile state of the economy these days, it is probably good to start saving money. Sure, you could use an old-fashioned piggy bank, but technology always gives us an electrical alternative. This is where the Robot Money Box comes in. When you put money in the bank, it can actually keep track of how much you put in. Another feature that makes the Robot Money box different from your average piggy bank is that it praises you for saving money. Not only that, but you can make target goals for saving, and it will encourage you for making them. But the additional feature that comes with this Bot may not make you so happy about your savings. This Robot is so cued in to today’s societal concerns, that it would prefer you save money instead of spending it. So while it will let you take money out on occasion, it may stop you when it thinks you are spending too much. But he will be fun to play with. When you approach him being a friendly sort of chap he will move his arms and talk to you in greeting. Of course he’s very smart and will be able to keep track of the exact total you have managed to save so far, also telling you how close you are to any set target amount, as well as giving encouragement for you to continue saving.

On top of all of these features, the Robot Money Bank also has a chest mounted display showing the time, day, date, and month, as well as an alarm function as well. And for less than $50 bucks, he is a pretty affordable Robot as well, which I am sure he will tell you is all the point, given that he is all about the savings.
